Farmington homeowners don't need another sales pitch about their roof — they need someone who shows up, explains what's actually wrong, and fixes it right the first time.
Roof Repair Smedway grew out of Farmington, ME job sites, not a corporate rollout plan — that's still how we staff every Roofing crew we send to Farmington.
We don't treat licensing as a formality — it's proof that the person on your roof knows what they're doing and that you're covered if anything goes sideways.
Every Roofing job, from a single flashing repair to a full Farmington tear-off, gets built to the same standard: the one that holds up, not the one that's fastest to invoice.
Documentation on request, no exceptions.
A midnight call gets the same urgency as a noon call.
You approve a number before the crew touches your roof.
We already know Farmington's weather patterns and permit process.
Most emergency calls we get trace back to a smaller sign that went unnoticed for weeks or months.
None of the six signs below require an emergency call on their own, but each one is worth a scheduled inspection before it turns into something bigger.
Heavy granule loss usually means the shingles are nearing the end of their service life.
Shingles that curl at the edges have lost flexibility and are more likely to crack in the next windstorm.
Pinpricks of light in the attic are an early, fixable version of what becomes a leak later.
Sagging or soft drywall usually points to sustained moisture, not a single isolated drip.
An unexplained bill increase is worth checking against your roof's condition.
Even a small missing section can let in enough water to rot decking in a single storm.
Whatever the issue — emergency, routine, or somewhere in between — it gets handled by a crew that specializes in that exact type of work.
Read through the categories and you'll usually recognize your own roof problem in one of them — that's intentional, since we scope calls the same way we've organized this list.
Active leaks get priority dispatch — a temporary cover first, a proper repair as soon as the crew can get materials on-site.
Every homeowner gets walked through material options before a decision is made, not after.
Flat roofs get scheduled inspections in addition to repair calls, catching ponding-water problems early.
A full tear-off strips the roof to the decking, replaces any damaged boards, and rebuilds with new underlayment and shingles to current code.
A proper inspection checks flashing, fasteners, ventilation, and granule wear before small issues become leaks.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general repair crews often miss.
Four steps, no surprises in between — here's exactly what happens after you pick up the phone.
After-hours calls still reach a live line for anything time-sensitive.
The inspection covers decking, flashing, and ventilation, not just the obvious visible damage.
Financing and insurance-claim questions are addressed at this stage.
Once approved, the crew completes the work to manufacturer spec and cleans the site before leaving.
We could list a dozen more reasons to work with us, but these six are the ones Farmington homeowners mention most often when they leave a review.
We give you an honest arrival window instead of a vague "sometime this week."
Every estimate is itemized so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Certifications stay current so material warranties remain valid after installation.
If the finished work doesn't match what was agreed, we come back and fix it at no charge.
We've worked with enough local carriers to know what actually speeds up claim approval.
If a repair solves the problem, that's what we recommend — we don't push a replacement to inflate the invoice.
Our guarantee covers our labor specifically: if the completed work doesn't match the agreed scope, we correct it at no extra cost.
If something unexpected turns up mid-job, like hidden decking damage, we flag it and get your approval before it changes your bill.
If you ever need to use the guarantee, the process is a phone call, not a fight.
We stage crews across Farmington, ME so a storm hitting one part of the region doesn't leave the rest of Farmington waiting.
Routes are planned around Farmington's actual streets and access points, not a generic radius drawn on a map, which is part of why our arrival windows tend to hold up.
Coverage decisions are based on actual drive time from the nearest staged crew, not a fixed distance line on a map.
